My creative partner and I were given the opportunity to create an event for Drury Design Dynamics that would promote their name in the special events industry in the NYC area. Our concept was to highlight three upcoming artists with varying talents by designing a one-time choreographed experience around a central, unifying theme. We then promoted the special event through online video documentaries, written articles and photography.

We combined the worlds of musical group Fear & Fancy featuring Jidenna, fashion designer Lindsay Degen, and photographer Esteban Pedraza by creating an interactive environment that encouraged each viewer’s participation. All three artists joined in the collaboration of creating theme, environment and displays.

The first of the featured artists was a group of musicians, producers, educators and leaders who created the world of Fear & Fancy, a tribe of chiefs and madames who use their talents to elevate their work, surroundings, and most importantly, one another. A major focus of their work is ritual through performance, music, spirituality, food and drink.

The DEGEN Rainbow was the central scenic element of fashion designer Lindsay Degen’s FW14 Collection. In front of the rainbow, Lindsay and her team performed on knitting machines used to create the fall/winter line. Models stood like mannequins while attendees were encouraged to explore the set: The performance became interactive and inclusive, and was complete after the audience interacted with all elements.
